Michel Sardou是法国著名的歌手、音乐创作人、演员，自上世纪70年代起，受欢迎程度至今不衰。他出身于巴黎一个音乐世家，父亲Fernand Sardou是流行歌手，电影演员。母亲Jackie Rollin早年是舞蹈演员，后来成为演员。

Michel Sardou 是Les Miserables音乐剧历史上的第一位Enjolras，在他的音乐事业中，这并不是一次太重要的演出。但是，充满革命色彩，关注社会政治的 Enjolras与Sardou本人倒是也有某些相似之处，他的音乐常常涉及不同的社会政治议题，不时引起争议。这种争议在他的第一张唱片就开始了。 1967年，Sardou录制了他的第一张唱片“les Ricains”（the Yanks），其中“les Ricains”这首歌赞扬了美国在二战中对解放法国的功绩，但由于越战的原因，法国当时出现了反美浪潮，唱片的这种论调令戴高乐总统反感，因而被禁播。 1969年，他当时的唱片公司Barclay与他解了约，幸而他的朋友Jacques Revaux和Régis Talar创立了自己的唱片公司，邀约他继续创作歌曲，他的音乐事业得以继续。

除了出演音乐剧，Tim还是伦敦一支摇滚乐队Van Tramp（另一个名字是El Camino）的主唱。

Tim与英国著名音乐剧女演员Ruthie Henshall（《悲惨世界》十周年演唱会的Fantine）结婚，有两个女儿。
