Roger Allam是一位英国演员，以舞台表演著称。1985年在《悲惨世界》的伦敦首演中扮演Javert，此外，在2001年BBC4频道播出的《悲惨世界》 广播剧中，他扮演的是Jean Valjean。  其他主要音乐剧作品包括Sweeney Todd《理发师陶德》，City of Angels《天使之城》，他凭后者获得1994年劳伦斯·奥利弗奖最佳音乐剧男主角奖提名。

Roger Allam1953年10月26日出生在伦敦北部，是Muswell Hill一位教区牧师的儿子，他在苏塞克斯的Christ’s Hospital school 学习的时候，一位朋友认为他是一位好演员，于是后来他进入曼彻斯特大学接受表演训练，获得了戏剧学士学位。他在Old Vic theatre看过Tom Stoppard的《罗森格兰兹与吉尔登斯吞已死》（Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead ）之后，非常喜欢这部戏，立志成为其中一分子。他在曼彻斯特进入了Contact Theatre ，他早期的两个角色是安杰洛（Angelo ）与麦克白（Macbeth）。后来，他进入了Monstrous Regiment ，成为这个女性剧团中仅有的两个男性成员之一。随后他又进入了Birmingham Rep and Glasgow Citizens Theatre。后来在1981年进入了皇家莎士比亚剧团。

在他的职业生涯中，在皇家莎士比亚剧团演了很多戏剧作品，也在伦敦的其他剧院演过不少的戏剧作品，也在不少电影、电视剧集中饰演角色，也在BBC的广播剧中出演了一系列作品。

他三次获劳伦斯·奥利弗奖的最佳戏剧男主角奖提名，其中2002年凭在Privates on Parade中的演出胜出。此外，他还在2000年凭Money赢得劳伦斯·奥利弗奖最佳戏剧男配角奖。
